Training on Reproductive Health Care
 
This year RNSWS has been imparted community based training programme On Reproductive Health Care. During the training different methods of reproductive health care like ante-natal care, post-natal care, neo-natal care, immunization and different methods of birth control like use of condom, spacing methods, use of copprt-T etc. has been discussed and demonstrated.
 
RNSWS is giving much emphasis on promotion of mother and child health care among the poor, oppressed, and downtrodden communities with special importance on SC/ST communities of operational areas. Around 85% of the targeted peoples are living below the poverty line and having no access to basic health care services. Considering this situation RNSWS has been organized awareness camp in different project areas.
 
 
      
 
 
 
Voluntary Blood Donation Camp
 
Ranaghat Nawpara Social Welfare Society( RNSWS) organized Voluntary Blood Donation Camp, supported by Ranaght Sub Divisional Hospital, Department of health & family welfare, Govt. of WB.
 
30 people participated in this camp and check their physical status, among them 30 participant donated blood voluntarily as per recommended by medical team. Department of health & family welfare provided Certificate & blood donation card to the blood donor.
 
 
        
 

Water & Sanitation Programme
 
Poor sanitation and absence of sanitary latrine and open defecating by mostof the households in rural area is creating severe health hazard and affecting living standard. The dignity of women suffers more for absence of sanitary latrine. To stop open defecating, Ranaghat Nawpara Social Welfare Society (RNSWS) collaborated with the district administration to implement Nirmal Bharat Abhijan in Nawpara Masunda, Tarapur, Barasat, Ramnagar-I GP Under Ranaghat-I Block, Kalinga, Mahatpur & Chapra-II GP of Chapra Block & Belgaria-I & Nabla GP of Santipur Block and Goyeshpur Municipality of Nadia District. It completed Swachha Bharat Mission programme in the aforesaid GPs and Municipality.
 
To ensure proper implementation of the programme along with behaviour change, the organization conducted a base line survey, awareness generation & sensitization and PRAs. These were also to determine key behaviours and perceptions regarding sanitation, hygiene, water use, and other related issues. Convergence of services following Swachha Bharat Mission is under process. The organization has succeeded to coordinate among all the major stakeholders, like District Water & Sanitation Department, Block Development Office and Panchayat to implement the programme. More than 5000 households have been identified in first phase to provide sobar sowchager model latrine with latest technology under the Sanitation programme.
 
      
 

Anti Tobacco Programme:
 
On the occasion of 31st May Anti Tobaccos day Ranaghat Nawpara Social Welfare Society (RNSWS) organized awareness camp and rally. All staff and volunteer of RNSWS, ex smoker, van puller, and daily labour of SC/ST community and local people of Nawpara Mosunda gram panchayet had participated in this rally and given information & awareness regarding tobacco uses and its effect. This programme technically supported by Chittaranjan National Cancer Research Institute.
 
      
 

School Awareness Programme
 
District Social Welfare Department, Nadia arranged Awareness generation programme among adolescent girls of different high school reading Class-IX to Class-XII. The main focus on the programmewas  awareness generation on different social evils such as Dowry system,  Early Marriage, …. etc. Our organization besides other organisations was selected by the organizer  to conduct the programme. We covered the students  of  the following schools to make aware of the above mentioned social problems.  Throughout   the programme we 
  • Mobilize  the adolescent girls;
  • Formation of Adolescent Groups in different schools covered by the programme;
  • Organisation of Awareness Camp by the mobilized girls in their areas;
From the programe we came to learn that such kind of programme made a great impact on the society. If we try to do for the betterment of the society altogether with care it would fruitful  we would be able to make the society free from all types of malpractices.
